GET TO KNOW TOM KONITZER
Tell us about the career journey that brought you to Elite365.
I was looking for a team with a dynamic and engaging culture. It is important to me to work for an organization that listens to everyone’s ideas and fosters collaboration amongst all its different service divisions. I wanted to be a part of something from the ground up and be part of a team that was building something special. Elite365 has allowed me to do this.
How many years have you been in healthcare staffing?
I’ve been working in the medical staffing field for more than 20 years – 12 specifically in international nurse staffing.
What was your first job?
I started my career with a privately-held home healthcare and medical staffing company, and I was with them for over nine years. I gained great insight into running a staffing firm during my time there. This position allowed me to get a 360-degree view of the business including recruitment, sales, operations, finance, clinical understanding, and leadership.
What is your home state?
To be honest, I’m not really sure. I was raised as an Army brat and have moved more times than I can count. I have lived all over the United States, as well as Syria and Germany. Currently, Charlotte, North Carolina is my home.
What is your favorite activity outside of work?
I love to snow ski and the mountains! I also enjoy playing golf and going to the beach when I can. I love to travel and spend time with family and friends.
Do you have a favorite sports team?
Go Dallas Cowboys (football) and Bayern Munich (soccer)!
Do you have a favorite TV show?
Seinfeld.
Do you have any children or pets?
My wife Laura and I have one son named Mac. He is 21 years old and a junior at West Point High School. We also have a beautiful, 8-year-old labrador retriever named Lily, and she is the best dog.
Who are your favorite musical artists?
I love music and going to concerts. I have too many favorite musical artists to name just one! A few of them are: U2, REM, Tom Petty, Pearl Jam, Dave Matthews, Pink Floyd, and Fleetwood Mac.
What would you like to say about your experience working at Elite365?
I have been with Elite365 for one year now and I could not be happier. Feels good being a part of an amazing and talented team that collaborates and shares innovative ideas across all of our different service lines. Everyone that works here has a voice, which is not common these days. I appreciate the fact that everyone – including leadership and my colleagues – are transparent and communicate effectively. That’s one of the many reasons I look forward to getting up and going to work each day.
